American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with experience in a variety of surgical specialties for an ambulatory OR assignment.

Details

• Ambulatory surgical setting with a focus on Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, and Total Joints cases
• No general surgery, labor & delivery, or pediatric cases are performed
• Day shift schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional late days required
• Floating within perioperative areas may be required as needed
• The unit has 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural room
• Epic EMR is used on the unit
• No on-call required for this position

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• SC or Compact surgical tech license required, if applicable
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a surgical technologist in a relevant setting
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Radiation badge must be provided by the employer
• Experience with ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, GYN, GU, endocrine, surgical oncology, plastics, robotics, and total joints is required
• Experience with Epic EMR is beneficial
• Drivers license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• This position is not open to first-time travelers
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered
• All requested time off must be declared at the time of application and is subject to approval based on unit needs
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Completion of non-billable onboarding modules, averaging four hours, is required prior to start
• Must be prepared to participate in emergency response during hurricane season (June to November)
• Scrub color or dress code details to be provided upon assignment
