Description

American Traveler is seeking a Polysomnographic Sleep Technologist with at least 1 year of sleep lab experience and current RPSGT and BLS certifications for a night shift contract.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based sleep center at a Magnet-recognized, Level 1 trauma, teaching facility
• Conduct both adult and pediatric sleep studies for patients ages 0-99
• Typical assignment includes 1 adult and 1 pediatric patient per shift with a 1:2 ratio
• Scheduled for three 12-hour night shifts per week, either Sunday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Friday, from 6:30pm to 7:00am
• Holiday coverage may be required
• No floating to other service lines or sister facilities
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience is preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital or independent lab setting as a Polysomnographic Technologist
• Current RPSGT and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Experience with both adult and pediatric populations required; pediatric sleep experience is preferred
• Ability to score studies is preferred
• No state license required for South Carolina; license required if applicable
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Must provide SSN and driver’s license for consideration
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel rate; locals may be considered at a reduced rate

• Responsibilities include setup, monitoring, and scoring of sleep studies for a diverse patient population
• Team environment with opportunities to support both adult and pediatric patients
• Previous employees (including PRN) must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelers
• All required modules must be completed pre-start and typically take around 4 hours
• Caribbean blue scrubs are required
• Parking is available for a one-time fee for nights and weekends
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application and is subject to approval based on unit needs
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season from June to November
