American Traveler is seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician with at least 1 year of recent GI/Endo unit experience and BLS certification for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital assignment.

Details

• Work in a teaching hospital's GI/Endoscopy department
• Handle 10-18 cases per day per procedure room
• Day shifts with four 9-hour shifts per week, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with variable day off
• No weekends or holiday shifts required
• No call required
• Possible floating to like units or sister facilities based on needs
• Unit utilizes Epic EMR; experience with Epic required
• Procedures include bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD
• Olympus scopes and processors are used

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a GI/Endoscopy unit
• Current BLS certification (AHA accepted)
• Previous endoscopy tech experience with PRC circulate and administering/recovering patients from conscious sedation
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Experience with Olympus scopes and processors
• Must have or be able to obtain a Radiology Badge; agency must provide BADGE
• SSN and driver's license required for consideration
• Not accepting first-time travelers for this assignment
• License required if applicable
• Must meet a 60-mile radius rule; locals considered on a case-by-case basis at a lower rate
• Previous perm staff (including PRN) must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Additional Information

• Main responsibilities include assisting with endoscopic procedures and maintaining procedure rooms
• Provide monitoring, administration, and recovery for patients under conscious sedation
• Join an interdisciplinary team in a Level 1 Trauma, Magnet-recognized hospital environment
• All required training modules are completed pre-start
• Orientation provided based on experience
• Facility-provided scrubs required for all shifts
• Parking requires a one-time payment for a pass; only needed for nights/weekends
• All time off requests must be submitted at time of application and approved based on unit needs
• May be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June–November)
