American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 18 months experience and BLS/NBSTSA certification for a busy surgical services unit.

Details

• Position is based in a hospital surgical services department with cases in general, GYN, urology, ENT/plastics, endovascular, orthopedics including total joint and sports medicine, podiatry, DaVinci robotics, and minimal pediatric surgeries
• Care provided primarily to adult and geriatric patients, with some pediatric and adolescent cases
• Work a flexible day shift schedule, either 3x12 or 4x10 hour shifts, from 7:00 to 19:30
• No floating required outside the surgical department
• Uses Cerner EMR, with prior Cerner experience required
• Utilize DaVinci robotic systems, perform total joint procedures, and manage cases in multiple surgical specialties

Requirements

• Active NBSTSA certification required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• Minimum of 18 months to 4 years recent surgical technologist experience in a hospital OR is required
• Experience in scrubbing, circulating, and aseptic techniques required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• DaVinci robotics, total joint, and experience with adult and geriatric patient populations required; pediatric and adolescent experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited program (ACEN or CCNE-accredited university at time of graduation)
• IN state license or compact state license must be in hand prior to start date; license required if applicable

Additional Information

• Work as part of an established surgical team across a wide range of specialties, supporting perioperative care for complex procedures
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption with documentation is required
• Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contract period
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday requested time off may be approved automatically; additional time off requires approval
• Perm or PRN employees are eligible if separated for at least 12 months prior to applying as a traveler
• Professionalism and strong teamwork skills are expected within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Scrub dress code applies per hospital standards
