Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with experience in cardiovascular operating rooms for a CVOR assignment requiring 2 years' operating room experience and CST certification.

Details

• Work primarily in a cardiovascular operating room with possible float to the main OR
• Patient population includes those requiring cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Day shifts scheduled as 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week
• Call required 1-2 nights per week and every third weekend
• Utilizes typical clinical equipment related to surgical technology

Requirements

• Graduation from a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience as a surgical scrub tech, LPN, or equivalent military training
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience required, with CVOR experience preferred
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credential required
• BLS certification required
• Competency in more than two surgical specialty areas
• Physical ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs, and to maintain standing, sitting, stooping, crouching, or bending positions as needed
• License required if applicable
• CPR certification required

Additional Information

• Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures and provide patient care during pre-operation
• Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room
• Engage in process improvement initiatives within the department
• Work in an environment requiring team collaboration and process improvement involvement
• Regular attendance is essential to meet unit needs
• Competency required to meet age-specific care needs in assigned unit
• 12-hour non-billable orientation is provided
• Facility does not accept local candidates and enforces a 50-mile radius restriction
• Call-offs may occur up to 1 shift per 30 days
