Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiology Monitor Tech (EKG Technologist) with at least 2 years of telemetry monitoring experience and required certifications for a busy telemetry unit.

Details

• Work in a telemetry unit with a subset of CICU patients
• Average of 48 monitored patients including adolescents, adults, and geriatric cases
• Patient population includes s/p PCA, CABG surgery, antiarrhythmic therapy, VAD, syncope, afib/aflutter, NSTEMI, and CHF diagnoses
• Full-time evening position with 5x8 hour shifts (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)
• Ability to float between 3:00 PM-11:00 PM and 11:00 PM-7:00 AM shifts and work every other weekend is required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry monitoring experience required
• Current BLS and Telemetry certification required
• Valid state license or certification required if applicable
• Experience with 5 lead placement, MCL setup, and Lead II setup required
• Ability to competently interpret rhythm strips required
• Experience with 12-lead EKG preferred
• Must have experience monitoring adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations

Additional Information

• Monitor a variety of cardiac patients including those recovering from advanced interventions
• Work every other weekend and float as needed between shifts
• Must complete modules during the first 8 hours of orientation
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• PA fingerprinting is required prior to start and may require travel
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted at a local rate
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
