American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with at least two years of central sterile processing experience and CRSCT or CBSPD certification for a multifaceted surgical services role.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing department supporting surgical services
• Day shift schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 to 15:30
• Weekend and holiday rotations are required
• Responsible for working across all areas of the Sterile Processing department as needed
• Handles assembly of surgical trays and case carts for multiple specialties including Orthopedics, General, Neuro, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, Robotics, Ophthalmology, Cardiac, and Podiatry
• Performs decontamination and reprocessing of used supplies and equipment
• Utilizes instrument tracking systems; Censitrac experience preferred
• Performs both steam and low temperature sterilization

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in central sterile processing
• CRSCT or CBSPD certification required
• Certification as Instrument Specialist (CIS) preferred
• Proficiency with assembly of surgical instrument trays and case carts
• Experience with a variety of surgical service lines instrumentation
• Proficient use of instrument tracking systems, with Censitrac preferred
• Active VA or Compact license required if applicable
• Submission of required documentation including valid photo ID and SSN
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions allowed with proper documentation
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required

Additional Information

• Duties include quality monitoring of equipment, instruments, and supplies
• Responsible for running dispatch phone under supervision and providing prompt, courteous service
• Expected to pick up used equipment and supplies from nursing units as needed
• Facility maintains a smoke- and nicotine-free environment
• Religious or medical exemption requests for vaccines must comply with CMS guidelines and require supporting documentation
• No RTO (requested time off) will be approved after an offer is made
