American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for an acute hospital evening shift assignment requiring IAHCSMM/HSPA certification and at least two years of experience.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing unit at an acute care hospital
• Evening shifts, Monday through Saturday, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with required Saturday coverage from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Handles a variety of specialty instruments including endoscopes, bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD scopes, ERCP scopes, and robotic instrumentation
• Responsible for acute operating room cases across bariatric, cardiac, endoscopy, general, laparoscopic, OB/GYN, orthopedics, plastics, podiatry, robotics, and urology specialties
• No on-call requirement

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in sterile processing in an acute hospital operating room setting
• Current IAHCSMM/HSPA Sterile Processing Technician certification required
• Endoscope reprocessing certification preferred
• Proficiency with chemical agents, disinfectants, manual cleaning, high-level disinfection, ultrasonic cleaners, washers/sterilizers, and proper sterilization and wrapping procedures
• Experience with assembly and organization of trays, equipment documentation, and use of Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM)
• Flu vaccination required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Responsible for chemical and biological indicator testing, steam and Sterrad sterilization monitoring
• Must document equipment processing and maintain accurate records
• Modules and specialty-specific training are completed pre-start and may extend into orientation
• Returning staff must have a one-year gap since last employment
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted at a different rate and must reside within 60 miles
• Dress code and scrub requirements will be provided prior to start
