American Traveler is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician with at least 2 years of recent experience and multiple certifications for an evening shift travel contract at a Level 1 trauma center.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing department of a tertiary care, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital
• Evening shift schedule, 5x8 hours per week (15:00–23:30)
• Average daily tray volume of 250
• No weekend, on-call, or floating requirements within the department
• High acuity patient population and a fast-paced work environment
• Uses Epic for charting; prior experience preferred
• Duties include ortho, neuro, cardiovascular, dental, ENT, general, laparoscopic, orthopedics, plastics, robotics, and urology trays
• Must wear green scrubs per facility requirement

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Sterile Processing Tech experience with at least 1 year in specialty within the last 12 months
• Valid BLS certification
• CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPA certifications required
• Proficiency with chemical agents for decontamination, disinfectants, washers/sterilizers, and sterilization wrapping procedures
• Experience with sets/trays assembly including dental, ENT, general, laparoscopic, neuro, ortho, plastics, robotics, and urology
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for up to 5 hours
• Pending license accepted, but both Kansas and Missouri or compact license must be in hand if floating between locations is required
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references from within the past year, including at least one supervisor-level reference

Additional Information

• Responsible for assembling, cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing surgical instruments for various surgical specialties
• Must complete 10–15 compliance module hours by start date; modules are completed during orientation
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed during contract
• Candidate drug screen must return clear results for placement
• Facility is a 5-time Magnet Award recipient with 456 staffed beds
