American Traveler is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with strong skills in orthopedics, robotics, and neuro surgery for a hospital OR tech position requiring Epic charting experience.

Details

• Assignment is in a hospital operating room with specialties including orthopedics (fracture and total joints), neuro trauma, oncology, pediatrics, bariatrics, robotic gynecology, general, and laparoscopic surgeries
• Works with advanced surgical technology including DaVinci Robot
• Handles trauma cases in a Level II trauma setting
• Variable day shifts, 3x12 hours (0645-1915 or 0900-2130) with weekday and on-call weekend requirements
• No floating outside the surgical tech role scope within the hospital

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent surgical technologist experience required
• Experience with orthopedics (total joints), DaVinci Robot, and neuro surgery (craniotomy, spinal surgery) required
• BLS certification required
• NCCT or NBSTSA certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
• Must provide at least 2 supervisory references from the last 3 years within a similar specialty or setting
• Hepatitis B vaccine required; facility does not accept titer or declination
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Main duties include assisting in a variety of complex surgical procedures and trauma cases using specialized robotics and orthopedic equipment
• Expected to work at least two out of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available onsite
• Pre-employment and ongoing training modules must be completed outside of working hours
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months after separation before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may be required to float between affiliate hospitals within the state if needed
• Assignment duration is limited to one calendar year, after which a 6-month break is mandatory before returning
• Only one time-off request per 13-week assignment; approvals made individually upon offer
