American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for an evening shift assignment at an acute care Level I trauma hospital, requiring a minimum of five years of SPT experience.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing unit of an acute care Level I trauma center
• Shift is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Patient census averages 50–55 per day
• Potential floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required
• Cerner EMR is used and experience with Cerner is strongly preferred
• No on-call required
• Any solid color scrubs may be worn

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Sterile Processing Technician required
• IAHCSMM/HSPA certification preferred
• IL license required if applicable
• AHA or American Red Cross certifications only; RQI cards not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
• Must provide SSN and DOB for consideration
• Must provide two supervisory professional references from the last two years
• Must have at least 18 months of experience unless otherwise specified for the unit
• Experience working in an acute care or trauma hospital is required

Additional Information

• Sterilize and process surgical instruments for daily hospital operations
• Role supports a 562-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Must be able to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Maximum of 5 days RTO is auto-approved; more requires facility approval
• Locals are accepted and bill rate is the same
• PERM or PRN employees must not have worked at this facility within the last 12 months to be eligible
• Free parking permit provided, completed during orientation
• Modules and onboarding tasks are completed virtually on the first day
