American Traveler seeks an experienced Cath Lab Surgical Technologist for a Level III trauma center in a dynamic hospital setting with rotating shifts and on-call requirements.

Details

• Work in a Cath Lab with 2 rooms, handling both diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases
• Level III trauma center with a patient population requiring LHC/RHC, NSTEMI and STEMI interventions, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temporary pacemakers, loop recorders, and peripheral (legs) diagnostic/intervention procedures
• Electrophysiology procedures include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
• Average of 8 cases performed per day
• Shifts are 10 hours, either 0600-1630 or 0700-1730 based on call schedule
• Call rotation is every 4th weekend and 1-2 weeknights per week with a 30-minute response time
• Possibility to float to an affiliated Cath Lab (15 minutes away) up to once per week
• Utilizes EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, Picom PACS, Merge Hemodynamic system (preferred), and GE Alea C-arm (experience not required)

Requirements

• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ARRT or RCIS credentials required
• WA state license required (license required if applicable)
• 1 year of Cath Lab experience required for travelers with previous experience; 2 years required for first-time travelers
• Ability to scrub cases and operate the table simultaneously
• Experience with the specified cardiac and electrophysiology case types required
• Merge Hemodynamic monitoring system experience preferred

Additional Information

• Support includes scheduler, charge nurse/lead tech, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist and intensivist, cardiologist on call during days, and RRT/code team on site
• Travelers expected to assist with transport of patients on telemonitor when needed
• First day orientation includes system onboarding and departmental training, with the option of buddy call the first week
• Holiday call coverage required for at least one holiday per contract
• Hospital-provided scrubs and lead with extended sizing available for scrubs
