American Traveler seeks a Sterile Processing Technician with at least two years of recent specialty experience and a BLS certification for a surgical services assignment.

Details

• Work in the Sterile Processing unit within a surgical services department
• Day shift schedule, working 5x8 hour shifts from 12:00 to 20:30
• Weekend and on-call work is required as needed
• Floating within the service line, including between departments, units, and facilities, may be required
• Handles a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment including endoscopes, bariatric, ENT, endoscopy, general, OB/GYN, orthopedics, plastics, urology, robotics, vascular, and more

Requirements

• At least two years of recent sterile processing specialty experience, with at least one year within the past 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• BLS certification required
• CBSPD or CRCST certification preferred
• Proficiency in chemical agents for decontamination, manual cleaning, ultrasonic cleaners, washers/sterilizers, tray assembly, scope/probe reprocessing, and using biological and chemical indicators
• Must possess current licensure for both Kansas and Missouri or a compact license if applicable
• License required if applicable
• Two professional references from the past year, with at least one from a supervisor or higher
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Responsible for organizing, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical instrument trays and equipment
• Performs specialized procedures including reprocessing endoscopic ultrasound scopes (EUS), cystoscopes, and uteroscopes
• Participates in steam sterilization testing and monitoring, as well as Steris testing
• Document equipment processing and ensure proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials
• May be required to take and pass drug screening prior to assignment
• Pre-assignment and annual training modules must be completed
• No travel partners accepted for this assignment
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off is permitted
