American Traveler seeks a Medical Radiation Physicist with a master's degree and at least one year of experience for a weekday shift in a hospital teaching and trauma environment.

Details

• Work in a hospital-based Radiation Oncology department
• Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule
• No weekends, call, or floating required
• Short-term acute care facility with teaching and Level I trauma designation
• Cerner electronic medical record system is used and experience is required
• Patient caseload details specific to radiation oncology physics

Requirements

• Master's degree in Medical Physics or a closely related discipline required
• PhD in Medical Physics preferred
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Radiation Physicist
• Completion of Part 1 of Certification by the American Board of Radiation Therapy Physics or Radiological Physics required
• Low Dose and High Dose Radiation license highly preferred; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification by American Heart Association preferred
• Two professional references required prior to consideration, one from the most recent employer within 1 year

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include supporting quality and patient safety standards in medication administration and radiation safety
• Must adhere to established safety standards for all radiation oncology processes
• Training modules are completed during first week of orientation
• Scrub color is flexible—any scrub color is permitted
• No floating or on-call responsibilities during the assignment

• First-time travelers are accepted
• All time-off requests for more than 5 days or during holidays require unit manager approval
• Candidates must not have worked as a permanent, PRN, or staff employee at this facility within the past 12 months
• Return travelers who cancelled a previous contract within 10 days of their start date are ineligible
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduled during assignment
