American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with CST and CNA certification for a hospital OB Tech position supporting Labor & Delivery services

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit performing OB Tech duties
• 13-week assignment with day (3x12, 0650-1920) or night (3x12, 1850-0720) rotating shifts
• Float requirement to cover Labor & Delivery and Women's Health units
• Call requirement of 3 shifts per 6-week period
• Every 3rd weekend required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program required
• BLS certification required
• CNA certification required (license required if applicable)
• CST certification required
• Clinic experience required
• L&D and scrub experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Skills in gynecologic and obstetric procedures including C-sections, vaginal delivery, dilation & curettage, cervical cerclage, and tubal ligation

Additional Information

• Assist with obstetric surgery and patient care activities in the Labor & Delivery area
• Function as part of a patient-centered care team under supervision of an RN or medical provider
• Assist nursing and medical staff with procedures, tests, and patient ADLs
• Perform specimen collection, phlebotomy, IV insertion, and Foley catheter care
• Document patient observations in the health record
• Follow aseptic technique, isolation precautions, and sterilization/disinfection protocols
• Utilize equipment such as case carts, crash carts, electrosurgical units, and washer/sterilizers
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
