American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist with ARRT(T) certification and 1+ year of experience for a brachytherapy department at a large academic acute care hospital in Missouri.

Details

• Work in the Brachytherapy department of a large short-term acute care, academic teaching facility with 1,266 staffed beds
• Daily caseload of 8–15 patients
• Primary procedures include HDR treatments and radiopharmaceutical administrations
• Opportunity to cross-train in proton therapy, external beam, and simulation
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, 4x10-hour shifts, 6:15 AM–4:45 PM, with rotating days off
• No weekend or holiday requirements
• No on-call requirements
• No floating to sister facilities required

Requirements

• Valid Missouri state Radiation Therapist license required for consideration; Illinois candidates may submit with a pending IL license
• Active BLS, ARRT, and ARRT (T) certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist
• Experience at an academic teaching facility preferred
• No prior brachytherapy experience required
• Must successfully pass the NRC Radiation Safety exam within the first 2 weeks of the contract (exam materials provided)
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include operating HDR units, assisting in brachytherapy implants, and administering radiopharmaceuticals as directed by the authorized user/authorized medical physicist
• Sensitivity training is highly preferred for this role
• Open to first-time travelers with appropriate experience
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Former permanent employees of this facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Allied travelers may remain on assignment for up to 12 months, after which a 6-month break in service is required
• No specific scrub color required
• Parking is available on-site; public transportation via Metrolink rail or bus is also available
