American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract at a Level IV Trauma community hospital in Cudahy, WI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of IR experience and an active WI license.

Details

• Work in a community hospital Interventional Radiology department with 1 IR suite and 1 minor procedure room, located in Cudahy, WI, approximately 20 minutes from Milwaukee
• Level IV Trauma Center and designated Stroke Center
• Older adult patient population with an average of 5–8 patients per day
• Common procedures include nephrostomy tubes, sonograms, port placements, biopsies, leg angiograms with interventions, PE thrombectomies, embolizations, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, and paras/thoras — no chemotherapy or neuro procedures
• EMR is Epic; experience preferred but not explicitly required
• Equipment includes GE Fluoroscopy machine, ultrasound machine, Inari device, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and McKesson PACS
• Five 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 0800–1630
• On-call rotation every 3 weeks for a full week (Monday 1600 through the following Monday 0700), with a 45-minute response time; one tech and one RN on call
• Weekend coverage is on-call only
• May be on call for up to 50% of holidays during the contract
• May float to CT to assist with procedures (will not operate CT equipment)

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
• Active WI state radiology license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
• Current BLS and ARRT certification required
• Experience with IR case types including nephrostomy tubes, port placements, biopsies, angiograms, PE thrombectomies, embolizations, and kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty
• Ability to scrub and pan simultaneously
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year
• Middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• Candidates who are former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule applies
• A manager interview is required as part of the selection process
• Scrubs are provided; candidates who wish to use a locker should bring their own lock
• Free parking is available on site
• Department team includes radiologists, a radiology PA for minor procedures, a lead tech, lead RN, management, rapid response/code team, and respiratory therapy
• Unit orientation consists of new employee orientation (NEO) plus 2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation
• Schedules are made in 12-week increments; RTO requests must be approved by the manager
• Charting and coding for cases is preferred but not required
